CERN Accelerating science

This virtual visit of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, its control room and the actual detector installed in the cavern 100 m underground. The ATLAS physicist Bastian Schlag will talk first about CERN and the Large Hadron Collider. Afterwards, he will show the ATLAS control room and then move to show the detector in the underground cavern. The audience is made of family members, friends and students from the University of Mainz. In the last part of the visit, Bastian will answer the audience questions.
